Fees
What we charge
We are compensated for asset management by a negotiable annual fee based on total assets under management. Fees and billing are pre-determined in writing in the Investment Advisory Agreement you execute with us. We do not charge fees for financial planning or retirement planning.
Asset management fee schedule
| Assets under management | Annual fee |
|---|---|
| $100,000 – $3,000,000 | 2.20% |
| Next $3,000,001 – $5,000,000 | 1.50% |
| Next $5,000,001+ | 1.00% |
These are the standard fee ranges typically charged. Fees are negotiable, and the final schedule is memorialized in your advisory agreement. No set-up or termination fees are charged. Our minimum account size for opening an account is $100,000.
Billing
You may be billed in advance semi-annually, quarterly, or monthly, or in arrears semi-annually, quarterly, or monthly. We also offer off-cycle billing for clients who need a schedule outside our standard windows.
We deduct fees from your account only on your written authorization. We send a copy of your invoice to your custodian at the same time we send it to you. Your qualified custodian will deliver an account statement at least quarterly showing all disbursements from your account. We urge you to review every statement for accuracy.
Because we can deduct fees from client accounts, and because we may act under Standing Letters of Authorization, we are deemed to have custody of client funds and securities. We do not take physical custody.
Termination and refunds
You may terminate without penalty and receive a full refund of our fees within five business days of signing the Investment Advisory Contract. Thereafter, either party may terminate on 30 days’ advance written notice. On termination, any prepaid, unearned fees are promptly refunded pro rata based on the number of days we provided services; any earned, unpaid fees are due through the effective date of termination.
Costs you pay to others
You are responsible for all third-party fees, including custodian fees, mutual fund fees, and transaction fees. These are separate from and in addition to our advisory fee. Exchange- traded funds and mutual funds charge their own expenses to shareholders, and you can invest in those funds directly without our services. Review both our fee and the funds’ fees to understand the total you pay.
We do not charge performance-based fees.
